King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that SEPTA construction is scheduled on Mount Carmel Avenue in Abington and Cheltenham townships, Montgomery County, beginning Friday, May 29.
Weather permitting, drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Friday, May 29, through Monday, June 1, Mount Carmel Avenue will be closed and detoured 24 hours a day between Tyson Avenue and Houston Avenue. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Edge Hill Road, Jenkintown Road, and Easton Road.
Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because backups and delays may occur.
SEPTA will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
