King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are planned next week on several state highways in Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, under multiple ongoing contracts to repair, resurface, and improve more than 240 miles of state highways across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County
- Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Phoenixville Pike between King Road and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in West Whiteland and East Whiteland townships for paving.
Montgomery County
- Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road) between Route 463 (Horsham Road) and County Line Road in Montgomery Township for utility casting adjustments.
- Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place weekdays on Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road) between Route 463 (Horsham Road) and County Line Road in Montgomery Township for paving.
Philadelphia County
- Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound Robbins Street between Frankford Avenue and State Road for milling.
- Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound Robbins Street between Frankford Avenue and State Road for prep work.
- Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Rhawn Street between Oxford Avenue and State Road for paving.
- Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on Holme Avenue between Roosevelt Boulevard and Academy Road for prep work.
- Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 10th Street and U.S. 13 (33rd Street) for milling.
- Tuesday, May 12, through Friday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 10th Street and U.S. 13 (33rd Street) for prep work.
- Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Holme Avenue between Roosevelt Boulevard and Academy Road for paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
