King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are planned next week on several state highways in Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing contracts to repair, resurface, and improve more than 240 miles of state highways across the five-county region.
Drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Marshallton Thorndale Road between Louanna Avenue and Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Caln Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments.
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Embreeville Road/West Chester Road/Oak Street between Hazelwood Avenue and 1st Avenue in Caln, West Bradford, East Fallowfield townships, South Coatesville Borough, and City of Coatesville for milling, paving, and utility adjustments.
Montgomery County
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 73 (Big Road) between Colonial Road and Route 29 (Gravel Pike Circle) in Upper Frederick and Lower Frederick townships for paving.
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Game Farm Round between Neiffer Road and Route 29 (Main Street) in Limerick and Lower Frederick townships and Schwenksville Borough for paving.
- Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 113 (Black Rock Road/Trappe Road) between South Trappe Road and Borough Line Road in Upper Providence Township for milling.
Philadelphia County
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 10th Street and Ridge Avenue for line striping.
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Robbins Street between Frankford Avenue and State Road for line striping.
- Monday, June 22, through Friday June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Rhawn Street between Oxford Avenue and State Road for line striping.
- Monday, June 22, through Friday June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Holme Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Academy Road for line striping.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
