King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are planned next week on several state highways in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing contracts to repair, resurface, and improve more than 240 miles of state highways across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Bucks County
- Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Elephant Road will be closed and detoured weekdays between Route 113 (Bedminster Road) and Old Bethlehem Road in Bedminster Township for rock swale installation, milling, and paving. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Route 113 (Bedminster Road), Route 313 (Dublin Pike), Ridge Road, and Old Bethlehem Road.
Montgomery County
- Monday, June 8, through Thursday, June 11, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Alan Wood Road between Tees Boulevard and Ridge Road in Plymouth Township for paving.
- Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 73 (Big Road) between Colonial Road and Route 29 (Gravel Pike Circle) in Upper Frederick and Lower Frederick townships for paving.
- Wednesday, June 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on westbound Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) between Inner Line Drive and Washington Memorial Chapel in Upper Merion Township for milling and paving.
- Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Game Farm Round between Neiffer Road and Route 29 (Main Street) in Limerick and Lower Frederick townships and Schwenksville Borough for milling.
Philadelphia County
- Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 10th Street and Ridge Avenue for line striping.
- Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Robbins Street between Frankford Avenue and State Road for line striping.
- Monday, June 8, through Friday June 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Rhawn Street between Oxford Avenue and State Road for line striping.
- Monday, June 8, through Friday June 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Holme Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Academy Road for line striping.
Local access will be maintained during road closures. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas or through the detour route because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
