King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will begin on Monday, March 9, on a project to replace the bridge that carries Stony Garden Road over Dimple Creek in Haycock Township, Bucks County.
Drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, March 9, through Monday, June 1, Stony Garden Road will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Roundhouse Road and Reed Lane. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Deerwood Lane, Route 563 (Mountain View Drive), and Route 412 (Durham Lane).
Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when driving through the work area because backups and delays may occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Under this project, PennDOT’s contractor will replace the almost 90-year-old single-span, 16-foot I-beam bridge with a box culvert. The new culvert will maintain lane widths while increasing shoulder widths by over a foot.
This bridge replacement is part of a $2.7 million project to replace or rehabilitate several structures in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
Grace Industries, Inc. of Northampton County, PA is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
