Market Street Ramp to I-95 South to Reopen Tomorrow Under the I-95 CAP Project in Center City Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the ramp from Market Street to Interstate 95 South will reopen by 3:00 PM tomorrow, March 17, under the $329 million CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate between Chestnut and Walnut streets in Center City Philadelphia.

The ramp has been closed since March 2025 for installation of a new Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) stormwater drain, demolition of a support pier from the former covering over I-95, beam setting over the southbound lanes, and pavement reconstruction.

A short-term closure of the ramp will be scheduled later this year to perform minor construction activities including line painting.
