King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that demolition of the eastbound side of the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) bridge over Route 452 (Market Street) will close a section of Route 452 (Market Street) next weekend under the $99.4 project to reconstruct, widen, and improve travel and safety on a 1.4-mile section of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County.
U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) will remain open to one lane in each direction during this weekend operation, with all traffic shifted to the westbound side of the highway.
Weather permitting, motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- From 9:00 PM Friday, February 6, to 6:00 AM Monday, February 9, Route 452 (Market Street) will be closed and detoured between Bethel Avenue and Story Road.
During the weekend closure, Route 452 North (Market Street) drivers will be directed to use U.S. 322 East, I-95 North, I-476 North, U.S. 1 South, and Route 452 (Pennell Road) to access Market Street.
Route 452 South (Market Street) drivers will be directed to use U.S. 322 West, Route 261 (Foulk Road), Garnet Mine Road, and U.S. 322 East to access Route 452 (Market Street).
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because significant backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
