    Barrier Replacement Scheduled on Spring Garden Street, Interstate 76 West (Schuylkill Expressway) in Philadelphia

    Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that barrier replacement will occur next week on Spring Garden Street and on westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in Philadelphia under a $41.3 million project to resurface, repair, and improve nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges in the City of Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

    Weather permitting, motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

    Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays may occur.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
