Barrier Placement to Close Two I-676 West Ramps near Broad Street (Route 611) in Center City Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that barrier placement for long-term shoulder closures will close two Interstate 676 ramps in Center City Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Friday, June 5, and Friday, June 12, from 12:00 AM (Midnight) to 5:00 AM, the ramp from westbound I-676 to Broad Street (Route 611)/Central Philadelphia will be closed and detoured. During the closure, motorists will be directed to continue on westbound I-676, exit at Ben Franklin Parkway, turn right onto 22nd Street, and turn right onto Spring Garden Street to access 15th Street or Broad Street (Route 611).
  • Friday, June 5, and Friday, June 12, from 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM, the ramp from 16th Street to westbound I-676 will be closed and detoured. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Spring Garden Street, turn left onto 21st Street, turn right on Winter Street, and turn right onto 22nd Street to access the on-ramp to westbound I-676.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas or along the detour routes because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
