Overhead Sign Structure Installation to Close Interstate 95 North at Night August 11-14 in Center City Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that overhead sign structure installation and barrier removal will close northbound I-95 at night in Center City Philadelphia beginning on Monday, August 11.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

During the overnight closure, motorists will be directed to use the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard exit and turn left onto Columbus Boulevard to access the ramp to northbound I-95 at Summer Street or at Girard Avenue.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because significant backups and delays may occur.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $329 million I-95 CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate between Chestnut and Walnut streets.
