Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that curb and sidewalk installations, along with inlet and stormwater pipe installations, will occur on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia as part of a local safety improvement project.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, December 1, through Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 18th Street and 20th Street.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
