King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing and pavement repair operations will occur next week on several state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Philadelphia
- Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on Penn Square (City Hall) between Market Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for line painting.
- Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street (Route 611) for line painting.
- Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Walnut Street between Broad Street (Route 611) and 23rd Street for line painting.
Bucks County
- Monday, October 27, through Saturday, November 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) between Poquessing Creek and Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) in Bensalem Township for pavement repair.
- Monday, October 27, through Saturday, November 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Knights Road between Route 132 (Street Road) and Poquessing Creek in Bensalem township for pavement repair.
Chester County
- Monday, October 27, and Friday, October 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections Hibernia Road between Wagontown Road and U.S. 322 (Horseshoe Pike) in West Brandywine Township for paving.
Delaware County
- Monday, October 27, through Thursday, October 30, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Lawrence Road between Route 320 (Sproul Road) and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Marple Township for paving.
- Wednesday, October 29, and Thursday, October 30, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Township Line Road between Route 452 (Market Street) and Highland Avenue in Trainer Borough, City of Chester, and Upper Chichester Township for milling.
Montgomery County
- Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on sections of Evans Road between Plymouth Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Lower Gwynedd Township for paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
