King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway reconstruction will close a lane on northbound Route 420 (Wanamaker Avenue) next week under a $36 million project to replace the two structures that carry the highway over Darby Creek in Prospect Park Borough and Tinicum Township, Delaware County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, December 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on northbound Route 420 (Wanamaker Avenue) will be closed and detoured between Interstate 95 and 4th Avenue.
- Tuesday, December 9, and Wednesday, December 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on northbound Route 420 (Wanamaker Avenue) between I-95 and 4th Avenue.
During the closure, southbound Route 420 (Wanamaker Avenue) motorists will be directed to use U.S. 13 (Chester Pike), Stewart Avenue and northbound I-95 to access Route 420.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
