Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that line striping operations will occur next week on several state highways in Philadelphia, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street (Route 611).
- Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Walnut Street between Broad Street (Route 611) and 23rd Street.
- Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on sections of Oregon Avenue between Delaware Avenue and 15th Street.
- Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on Penn Square (City Hall) between Market Street and Broad Street (Route 611).
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
