Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge repair and ramp construction will occur on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, October 27, through Friday, October 31, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue and Cottman Avenue (Route 73) interchanges for bridge repair and barrier installation.
- Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 21, the ramp from Aramingo Avenue at the Bridge Street Interchange to I-95 south will be closed 24/7 for construction. Motorists will be directed to exit to Aramingo Avenue at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange, turn right onto Aramingo Avenue, turn right onto Adams Avenue, and turn right onto the ramp to I-95 South.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes or allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s $355.3 million I-95/BR3 project to widen and reconstruct northbound I-95 between Wheatsheaf Lane to just north of Margaret Street.
