King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities will be performed next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in 1 Bensalem and Middletown townships, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Sunday, October 19, through Friday, October 24, 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange.
- Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure will be in place on eastbound Rockhill Drive between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
