Philadelphia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will occur at night next week on northbound I-95 in Center City Philadelphia under the $329 million I-95 CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate between Chestnut and Walnut streets.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Thursday, October 9, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and I-676 interchanges. The ramp from Columbus Boulevard to northbound I-95 will also be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed north on Columbus Boulevard to the Summer Street northbound I-95 on-ramp.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because significant backups and delays may occur.
