MEDIA ADVISORY: MONDAY IN MONROE COUNTY – Shapiro Administration Urges Drivers to Put the Phone Away or Pay a Fine Under New Law

Saylorsburg, PA – On Monday, officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) will join Senator Rosemary Brown and national traffic safety advocate Eileen Miller to urge drivers to put down the phone while driving. Beginning June 5, 2026, drivers convicted of using a hand-held device while driving will pay a $50 fine under Paul Miller’s Law.
