    Shoulder Improvements Require Lane Closures on Interstate 80 in Luzerne County

    Dunmore, PA – There will be lane closures on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound in Luzerne County between Mifflinville/Mainville (Exit 242) and the Interstate 80 Rest Area (Exit 246) on Monday, June 29, 2026 (eastbound passing lane), Tuesday, June 30, 2026, (westbound driving lane), and Wednesday, July 1, 2026, (eastbound driving lane) for shoulder cutting. Closures will be in place from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, daily.

    When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
