    Right Lane Closures on Interstate 81 Northbound and Southbound in Lackawanna County

    Dunmore, PA – There will be right lane closures on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound in Lackawanna County on Tuesday June 9, 2006, and Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for manual patching, weather permitting. Drivers should consider taking alternate routes if possible. Right lane closures will be as follows:

    ·       Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Interstate 81 southbound between Davis Street (Exit 181) and Avoca/Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (Exit 178).

    ·       Thursday, June 11, 2026, Interstate 81 northbound between Avoca/Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport (Exit 178) and Davis Street (Exit 181).

    When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
