Lane Restrictions on Interstate 81 in Lackawanna County

Dunmore, PA – There will be lane restrictions on Interstate 81 and several of its on and exit ramps in Lackawanna County on Monday, March 16, 2026, through Friday, March 20, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM for tree trimming. Lane restrictions are as follows:

  • Interstate 81 southbound between Exit 185 (President Biden Expressway) and Exit 182B (Davis Street), Monday, March 16, 2026, through Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
  • Route 8024 ramp to Interstate 81 northbound between Exit 186 (Dunmore/Drinker Street) and Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop), and Interstate 84 westbound to Route 347, Thursday, March 19, 2026, through Friday, March 20, 2026.
  • Interstate 81 southbound between Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue) and Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
  • Route 8009 ramp to Interstate 81 southbound exit ramp between Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) and Exit 187 (Mount Pocono/Milford), Route 8009 ramp to Interstate 81 southbound on ramp from route 347 southbound, Route 8009 ramp to Interstate 81 southbound on ramp from Route 347 northbound; and Route 8009 ramp to Interstate 81 southbound/Interstate 84 eastbound on ramp from Route 347, on Thursday, March 19. 2026.

When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
