    Lane Closures on Interstate 81 Northbound and Southbound in Luzerne County

    April 17, 2026

    Dunmore, PA – There will be lane closures on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound on Monday, April 20, 2026, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, and Wednesday, April 2026 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily for bridge deck repair in several locations:

    ·       Monday, April 20, 2026 – Interstate 81 northbound driving lane from Exit 145 (West Hazleton) to Exit 151 (Interstate 80 Junction).

    ·       Tuesday, April 21, 2026 – Interstate 81 northbound driving lane from Exit 141 (Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Beltway) to Exit 143 (Hazleton/Route 924).

    ·       Wednesday, April 22, 2026 – Interstate 81 southbound passing lane from Exit 143 (Hazleton/Route 924) to Exit 141 (Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Beltway).

    When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
