Dunmore, PA – There will be short-term closure of the Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue) Interstate 81 on-ramp on Saturday, October 11, 2025, and Sunday, October 12, 2025, as well overnight lane restrictions on Interstate 81 from Monday, October 13, 2025, through Friday, October 17, 2025, both projects for grinding and epoxy overlay.
Short term ramp closure of the Exit 190 (Main Avenue, Dickson City) northbound and southbound on-ramp will take place Saturday, October 11, 2025, and Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Detours to and from Main Avenue are as follows:
From Interstate 81 northbound at Exit 190 (Main Avenue):
· Pass Exit 190, head northbound toward Exit 191B.
· Exit right onto 191B toward Scranton/Carbondale Highway.
· Stay in right lane on Scranton/Carbondale Highway.
· Exit right toward Interstate 81 southbound and Route 6 East.
· Follow Interstate 81 southbound to Exit 190 to gain access to Main Avenue.
From Interstate 81 southbound to Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue):
· Pass Exit 190 (Dickson City/ Main Avenue) toward Dunmore.
· Take Exit 188 (Dunmore/Route 347) on the right.
· Bear left to the light (stay in far-right lane).
· Make a left onto Route 347/O’Neil Highway (stay in the right lane).
· Exit right to Interstate 81 northbound.
· Follow Interstate 81 northbound to Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue)
· Exit right onto Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue) to gain access to Main Avenue.
From Main Avenue to Interstate 81 southbound:
· Take Main Avenue to Interstate 81 northbound on-ramp.
· Follow Interstate 81 northbound to Exit 191B.
· Exit right onto Exit 191B toward Scranton/Carbondale Highway.
· Stay in right lane on Scranton/Carbondale Highway.
· Exit right to Interstate 81 southbound and Route 6 East to gain access to Interstate 81 southbound.
From Interstate 81 southbound to Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Ave):
· Pass Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue) toward Exit 188 (Dunmore).
· Take Exit 188 (Dunmore/Route 347) on the right.
· Bear left to the light (stay in far-right lane).
· Make a left onto Route 347/O’Neil Highway (stay in the right lane).
· Exit right to Interstate 81 northbound.
· Follow Interstate 81 northbound to Exit 190 (Dickson City/ Main Avenue)
· Exit right onto Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Avenue) to gain access to Main Avenue.
Lane restrictions will also be in place overnight on Interstate 81 for grinding and epoxy overlay on the following nights:
· Interstate 81 northbound between Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) and 191B (Scranton Expressway) on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
· Interstate 81 southbound between Exit 191B (Scranton Expressway) and Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
· Interstate 81 northbound between Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) and Exit 190 (Main Avenue, Dickson City) on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
· Interstate 81 Southbound between Exit 190 (Main Avenue, Dickson City) and Exit 188 (Dunmore/Throop) on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Friday, October 17.
When encountering a work zone, please drive the posted speed limit, turn on your headlights, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, and avoid all distractions. In high-traffic locations, motorists are encouraged to use both lanes of travel to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
