Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising drivers in Lycoming County that the bridge that carries Proctor Road (Route 1005) over Plunketts Creek in Plunketts Creek Township, will soon be posted with a truck restriction. The bridge which is between Wallis Run Road (Route 1006) and Barbours Cemetery Road/Lower Barbours Road (Route 1005), will be restricted to one truck.
The posting was made based on a recent bridge inspection indicating that this bridge may be damaged if two or more trucks of legal weight are on the bridge at the same time. The truck restriction will be in effect once the required signs are in place, anticipated to occur later this week.
The bridge over Plunketts Creek is scheduled to be replaced in 2029. The restriction will be lifted upon the new bridge opening to traffic.
