8:30 AM UPDATE: The traffic has cleared on Route 54 in Montour and Northumberland counties. The repair of the railroad crossing arms are currently underway, and traffic flow is anticipated to be back to normal later this morning.
Montoursville, PA – Drivers traveling Route 54 in Danville Borough and Valley Township in Montour County and Riverside Borough and Rush Township in Northumberland County should expect delays in travel due to the railroad crossing arms being stuck in a down position at the railroad crossing in Riverside Borough.
At 7:30 AM, traffic was backed up approximately 1-mile between Riverside Borough and Valley Township and approximately 2-miles between Riverside Borough and Boyd Station Road in Rush Township.
Drivers should avoid the area, if possible, and seek alternate routes. Repairs are expected later today.
