    Bridge Replacement Continues on Route 87 Over Ogdonia Creek in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County

    Montoursville, PA – A bridge replacement project continues on Route 87 over Ogdonia Creek in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County. The bridge is located approximately 0.1 mile south of Ogdonia Road (Route 3005) in Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County and approximately 5.6 miles north of Dunwoody Road (Route 1007) in Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County.

    On Tuesday, April 28, the contractor, John Nastase Construction, will be placing signage and temporary traffic signals for traffic to travel on the temporary one lane bridge while demolition of the existing and construction of the new bridge takes place.

    Drivers should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway. In addition, drivers should slow down and drive with caution as heavy machinery will be operating in the area,

    John Nastase Construction is the prime contractor for this $2,227,777 bridge replacement project. Work on the project includes construction of a temporary roadway and bridge, installation of temporary traffic signals, removal of the existing structure, construction of a new structure, approach work, paving, line painting, guide rail, and removal of the temporary roadway and bridge. The project is anticipated to be completed in fall of 2026, weather permitting.

    PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
