Montoursville, PA – A roadway and bridge improvement project continues on Front Street (Routes 405/61) in the City of Sunbury and the Thomas Edison and Joseph Priestley bridges in Upper Augusta Township, Northumberland County.
Week of May 4
The contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., will continue trimming trees while work begins on the construction of the ADA ramps at various intersections on Front Street. Drivers can expect shoulder restrictions and sidewalk closures between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $3.7 million roadway improvement project. Work on the project includes tree trimming, milling and resurfacing, and construction of ADA ramps. Additional work includes milling and resurfacing of Bridge Avenue in Upper Augusta Township, application of epoxy overlay, sign and lighting upgrades on the Thomas Edison and Joseph Priestley bridges, guide rail upgrades, and pavement markings. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in November 2026, weather permitting.
