Montoursville, PA – Drivers are advised a bridge replacement project is set to begin next week on Winding Road (Route 1020) in Fishing Creek Township, Columbia County.
Beginning Wednesday, April 29, the contractor, Minichi, Inc, will begin work on Winding Road for approximately 1.5 miles between Ridge Road (Route 1025) and Short Road. Work on this project includes mill and overlay, bridge removal and replacement, clearing, guiderail, line painting, and other miscellaneous work.
Winding Road will be closed to traffic at the work site. Traffic will be detoured using Ridge Road, Zaners Bridge Road (Route 1022), Academy Street (Route 4014) and Shickshinny Road (Route 239).
Drivers should drive with caution in the area, follow the detour, and expect minor delays.
This bridge replacement project is expected to be completed in late October 2026.
