Bridge Rehabilitation Project on Route 225 Set to Begin Next Week Near Pillow, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge rehabilitation project is set to begin next week on Route 225 in the Borough of Pillow, Northumberland County.

On Monday, March 16, 2026, the contractor, Rylind Construction Company, Inc, and a sub-contractor will begin widening shoulders for upcoming lane shifts to accommodate the bridge rehabilitation work. This shoulder widening work is expected to be completed in three days, weather permitting. Temporary traffic signals will also be installed, to be activated at a later date.

Drivers can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be performed Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. 

Rylind Construction Company, Inc is the prime contractor for this $4.4 million bridge rehabilitation project. Work includes rehabilitation and deck replacement of the existing bridge that carries Route 225 over Mahantango Creek. Also included in this contract is similar construction activities on a structure on Klingerstown Road (Route 3018). Additional work includes paving, guiderail, line painting, and other miscellaneous construction. This project is anticipated to be completed in October 2027, weather permitting.
