Bridge Project to Start Next Week on Route 239 in Benton Borough, Columbia County

Montoursville, PA – A bridge rehabilitation project is set to begin next week on Route 239 in Benton Borough, Columbia County. The bridge, which carries Route 239 over Fishing Creek, is located between Mill Street and Market Street.

On Tuesday, February 10, the contractor, Kinsley Construction, LLC., will begin rehabilitation work on northbound lane, which is the upstream portion of the structure. Drivers can expect a single lane condition controlled by temporary traffic signals for the duration of the project.

Kinsley Construction, LLC., is the prime contractor for this $4.5 million bridge rehabilitation project. Work includes removal of the existing bridge superstructure, installation of new bridge beams and bridge deck, sewer relocation, approach roadway work, construction of ADA ramps, paving, and line painting. Work on is anticipated to be complete in the fall 2026, weather permitting.
