    Bridge Rehabilitation Project on Route 225 Continues Northumberland and Dauphin Counties

    Montoursville, PA – A bridge rehabilitation project continues on Route 225 in Lower Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County and Pillow Borough, Dauphin County. The bridge, which spans Mahantango Creek, is located at the Northumberland/Dauphin County line.

    Between Thursday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 23, the contractor will continue mobilizing equipment and preparing the work area for the upcoming bridge rehabilitation. Drivers can expect single lane conditions with flagging between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

    Traffic Impacts

    • On Thursday, March 19, temporary traffic signals were installed at each end of the bridge and placed in flashing mode.
    • On Thursday, March 26
      • The temporary traffic signals will be placed in full operation mode.
      • A 14-foot width restriction will go into effect.
      • The contractor will begin placing temporary barrier along the bridge.

    Drivers should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.

    Rylind Construction Company, Inc is the prime contractor for this $4.4 million bridge rehabilitation project. Work includes rehabilitation and deck replacement of the existing bridge that carries Route 225 over Mahantango Creek between Lower Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County and Pillow Borough, Dauphin County. Also included in this contract is similar construction activities on a structure on Klingerstown Road (Route 3018). Additional work includes paving, guiderail, line painting, and other miscellaneous construction. This project is anticipated to be completed in October 2027, weather permitting.
