Shoulder Cutting Begins Next Week on I-180 in Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway maintenance project begins next week on Interstate 180 between Basin Street (Exit 26) in the City of Williamsport and the Lycoming / Northumberland County line in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County.

A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be shoulder cutting between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM at the following locations:

  • Tuesday, November 18
    • I-180 eastbound between Lycoming Mall Road (Exit 17) and the Lycoming / Northumberland County line.
  • Wednesday, November 19
    • I-180 eastbound between Basin Street (Exit 26) and Lycoming Mall Road (Exit 17).
  • Thursday, November 20
    • I-180 westbound between Basin Street (Exit 26) and Lycoming Mall Road (Exit 17).
  • Tuesday, November 25
    • I-180 westbound between Lycoming Mall Road (Exit 17) and the Lycoming / Northumberland County line.

Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted where work is being performed. Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for lane changes, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.
