Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that resurfacing projects will begin next week on Market Street (Route 1025) and Route 93 in Berwick Borough and Martzville Road (Route 1014) in Briar Creek Township, Columbia County.
Starting on Monday, July 21, 2025, the contractor, Don E. Bower, will begin work on the ADA curb ramps and perform base repairs along Market Street and Route 93 in Berwick Borough and Martzville Road in Briar Creek Township. Motorists can expect minor impacts to traffic where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours.
Don E. Bower is the prime contractor for this $2 million resurfacing project. Work on this project includes the mill of the existing roadway Market Street between Front Street and Water Dam Road, Route 93 between Canal Street and Front Street in Berwick Borough, and Mertzville Road between Lake Road and Market Street in Briar Township. Additional work includes the replacement of the flexible base, resurface, construction of ADA curb ramps, and line painting. This project is anticipated to be completed by the fall 2025, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for slow moving or stopped traffic, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
