Reconstruction Project Continues on Interstate 80 in Montour and Northumberland Counties

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a multi-year construction project continues on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County.

The week of Monday, October 20, 2025

The contractor will continue work on the bridges carrying Interstate 80 over Narehood Road (Route 3003), which is located approximately 3 miles east of Exit 215 (Limestoneville / Route 254) in Liberty Township and Klondike Road (Route 3007), approximately 2 miles west of Exit 224 (Danville / Route 54) in Valley Township.

Between Monday, October 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM and Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 6:00 AM, the contractor will begin work to restore the traffic pattern in the area of Klondike Road. Work includes removing the temporary barrier along the eastbound lanes, line painting and installing guide rail.

I-80 EB Traffic Impacts

  • I-80 eastbound exit ramp to Route 54 (Exit 224 / Danville) will be closed for 2-hours while the contractor removes the temporary barrier. The 2-hour closure will take place between the hours of 7:00 PM and midnight on Monday, October 20.
  • The following detours will be available during the ramp closure.
  • Exit 215 (Limestoneville / Route 254) in Northumberland County, Route 54.
  • Exit 232 (Buckhorn / Route 42) in Columbia County, I-80 westbound, Exit 224 (Danville / Route 54). 

Narehood Road Traffic Impacts

  • Interstate 80 Westbound 
    • Westbound traffic on Interstate 80 will continue to use the temporary structure, while the contractor reconstructs the bridge that carries Interstate 80 westbound over Narehood Road.
  • Interstate 80 Eastbound
    • Eastbound traffic on Interstate 80 will continue to use the temporary structure while the contractor reconstructs the bridge that carries Interstate 80 eastbound over Narehood Road.
  • Narehood Road
    • Narehood Road remains closed between Stump Road (Route 3006), and Liberty Valley Road (Route 642).
