4:30 PM Update: Both lanes of I-80 eastbound at mile marker 221 are now open.
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of a lane closure on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 221, located approximately 3 miles east of the Exit 215 (Limestoneville / Route 254) interchange in Northumberland County.
Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted in the area where the two eastbound lanes are split. Traffic will be directed to the left (passing) lane, which restricts access to Exit 224 (Danville / Route 54).
Access to Exit 224 from I-80 eastbound is restricted. Traffic looking to access Exit 224 from I-80 eastbound have two options.
- Exit 215 (Limestoneville / Route 254) in Northumberland County, Route 254, Route 54,
- Exit 232 (Buckhorn / Route 42), Interstate 80 westbound, Route 54 using Exit 224 (Danville / Route 54).
The lane is expected to be closed for several hours. Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and avoid the area if possible.
