I-180 Closed in Both Directions in Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that Interstate 180 is closed in both directions between McEwensville/Watsontown (Exit # 1) and Turbotville (Exit # 5) in Northumberland County, due to a truck striking the bridge that carries Eighth Street (Route 1006) over the interstate, with downed utility lines. Eighth Street is also closed currently.

A detour is in place using Susquehanna Trail (Route 1007), Route 54 and Church Road.

Utility companies are on site and the bridge will need to be inspected before the roadway can be reopened. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) are coordinating. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
