PennDOT Announces Traffic Stop Along Route 322 in Philipsburg

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerted drivers traveling Route 322 in the Philipsburg area that it anticipates a traffic disruption of approximately 15 to 20 minutes on Thursday, April 30, as First Energy electric company delivers equipment to its electrical substation located at 1321 East Pine Street in Philipsburg.

Traffic in both directions will be stopped near the intersection of Route 322 and East Pine Street for approximately 15 to 20 minutes as First Energy delivers the equipment which is needed to upgrade the electrical substation. While it is not possible to know precisely what time the delivery will occur, PennDOT and First Energy anticipate the stoppage happening between 9:00 AM and Noon.

The stoppage will be enforced by flaggers stationed at the Pine and Ninth Street intersections. Drivers thar are familiar with the area may wish to choose an alternate route around the stoppage.

This segment of Route 322 is traveled by an average of more than 8,700 vehicles daily. PennDOT and First Energy appreciate motorists’ patience while this delivery for the needed upgrade occurs and pledge to reopen the roadway as soon as possible.
