Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that resurfacing work on Route 4003 (Long Level/Tambine Road) in Jones and Ridgway townships starts on Tuesday, September 16. This work is part of a larger contract to improve the ride quality and extend the service life of approximately 31 miles across eight routes in Cameron, Clearfield, and Elk counties.
Crews will begin removing guide rail and excavating the work zone starting September 16. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours. PennDOT urges drivers to anticipate delays, exercise caution in work zones, obey flaggers and other posted work zone signage, and always buckle up.
Paving operations will follow once the guide rail removal and excavation are complete. PennDOT anticipates work on this road will take approximately three weeks to complete. All schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Overall work on this project includes surface preparation and paving operations, pavement marking, and miscellaneous construction. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor on this $5.2 million project. PennDOT anticipates work on all roads to be complete by mid-November.
