Loucks Mills Road Detour Starts Monday

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the contractor for a full-depth roadway reconstruction project along Route 1003 (Loucks Mills Road) between Galeton and Ulysses boroughs in Potter County will implement a detour on Monday, October 6. This project will remove a 10-ton weight limit posting, improve drainage, and update guiderail on approximately 3.5 miles of roadway.

Traffic will follow a detour using Routes 6, 449, 1001 (Fox Hill Road), and 1008 (Cross Road) while the contractor completes the work. PennDOT expects the detour to remain in place until early next month and urges drivers to exercise caution in all work zones, obey flaggers, posted speed limit and other work zone signage, and always buckle up. All schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

This roadway reconstruction project is the result of an Upgrade Partnership between PennDOT and Greylock Production, LLC., of Charleston, WV. Under the terms of the partnership, PennDOT and Greylock will each pay 50 percent of the $3.4 million contract. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor.
