Field Survey Activity Under Way for State College Area Connector

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that field survey work to collect additional field information and data for the Recommended Preferred Alternative of the State College Area Connector Project began yesterday. PennDOT will use the data collected during these surveys to refine the alignment, complete the applicable permit applications, and develop the final construction plans.

Survey crews will be working throughout the fall. While most of the work will take place off the existing roadway, there may be periods of intermittent flagging along existing Route 322, Route 45, and other roadways within the project area while crews complete the surveys. PennDOT expects minimal traffic impacts during these periods.

Additional information on the State College Area Connector Project, including the “Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement” and the “Purpose and Need Statement,” is available online at www.PennDOT.pa.gov/SCAC.
