Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it will close a Route 2003 (Doe Run Road) at a bridge spanning Doe Run approximately half a mile north of Mexico on Thursday, August 28, to begin work on a superstructure replacement. This work will improve the ride quality over the bridge, extend its service life, and improve its overall condition rating.

While the bridge is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 3002 (Main Street) and Route 2002 (Miller Hill Road). PennDOT expects the bridge to be closed until early November, but all schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

In total, four bridges will see work as part of this contract. Work on a Route 4001 bridge in Clinton County, the Mifflin County Veterans Memorial Bridge spanning the Juniata River along Route 103, and on a Route 2006 (Cedar Street) bridge spanning Delaware Creek approximately half a mile east of Salem, started earlier this construction season. Rylind Construction Company, Inc. of Muncy, PA, is the contractor on this $5 million contract.
