‘Stop Except Right Turn’ Sign to be Installed at River Road Intersection in Millstone Township, Elk County

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the installation of new signage at the intersection of River Road and Route 3001 (Bridge Road/Belltown Road) in Millstone Township, Elk County. This new stop condition will improve safety for the motoring public traveling through the intersection.

PennDOT will install a “Stop Except Right Turn” sign on Route 3001 (Bridge Road/ Belltown Road), facing westbound traffic, at the intersection of River Road. The sign is intended to stop traffic continuing straight, reducing the risk of collisions with traffic coming from Bridge Road. Traffic continuing to the right onto bridge road will not be required to stop.

Message boards will be in place to alert drivers to the coming change in the weeks before the sign is installed. PennDOT expects the sign to be in place in November. A red flashing light will be mounted on the sign for the first month to further alert drivers to the new stop condition.
