PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of April 6, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 6. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brushing:

  • Route 30 in Ligonier Township
  • Route 711 in St. Clair Township
  • Route 271 in Fairfield Township
  • Various routes in Upper Burrell, Lower Burrell, and Washington townships

Patching:

  • Route 30 in Hempfield and Ligonier townships
  • Route 993 (Broadway Street) in North Huntingdon Township
  • Route 711 in Ligonier Township
  • Various routes in Salem, Derry, and Unity townships

Pipe cleaning:

  • Route 30 in South Huntingdon Township
  • Route 981 (Scottdale-Smithton Rd) in East Huntingdon township
  • Route 2001 (Bridgeport Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township
  • Route 2010 (Stone Church Road) in Hempfield Township
  • Route 2012 (Armbrust Road) in Hempfield Township

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 2010 (Armbrust-Hecla Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township
  • Route 3010 (Pittsburgh Pike) in South Huntingdon Township
  • Route 981 (Alverton-Mt. Pleasant Road) in East Huntingdon Township

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 2035 (Binky Road) in Ligonier Township
  • Route 711 in Fairfield Township

Inlet repair:

  • Route 2025 (Ankney Hill Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
