Traffic Impacts Scheduled on Interstate 79 as the Waynesburg to Marianna Preservation Project Progresses in Greene and Washington Counties

Ramp closure scheduled in Greene County on Monday.

Lane restrictions remain in place on Interstate 79.

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing a ramp closure on northbound Interstate 79 at Exit 19 (Ruff Creek/Jefferson) in Washington Township, Greene County on Monday, August 10 from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. All work depends on weather and operations.

The posted detour will direct northbound I-79 traffic to continue past Exit 19 (Ruff Creek/Jefferson) to Exit 23 (Marianna/Prosperity). From Exit 23 drivers will re-enter southbound I-79 and travel to southbound Exit 19 (Ruff Creek/Jefferson).

Current I-79 single-lane restrictions between Exit 14 (Masontown/Waynesburg) and Exit 23 (Marianna/Prosperity) that began on June 18, will continue until late August.

The ramp closure will allow crews from Gulisek Construction Co. to perform concrete patching and crews from Lindy Paving to overlay entrance and exit ramps with asphalt.

This work is part of the I-79 Waynesburg to Marianna Project, which will make improvements to approximately 11 miles of I-79, extending through Franklin and Washington townships in Greene County and Amwell Township in Washington County a $45.9 million infrastructure investment. Lindy Paving, Inc., is the prime contractor.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution driving through the work zone. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
