TRAFFIC ALERT: Southbound Interstate 79 Scheduled to Close Temporarily in Greene County

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is advising drivers southbound Interstate 79 will temporarily close from Exit 19 (Ruff Creek/Jefferson) in Washington Township to Exit 14 (Masontown/Waynesburg) in Franklin Township, Greene County, beginning at noon today due to an earlier crash.

The closure is anticipated to take place from 12:00 PM until approximately 2:00 PM to allow crews to remove an overturned vehicle. Once the vehicle is removed, the interstate will reopen.

Detour:

  • Exit I-79 at southbound Exit 19 (Ruff Creek/Jefferson), southbound Route 221, eastbound Route 188, southbound Route 88, westbound Route 21, enter southbound I-79 via Exit 14 (Masontown/Waynesburg).
