Route 981 Railroad Maintenance Scheduled in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing a portion of Route 981 between Smithton Beach Road and Skyline Drive in Smithton Borough, Westmoreland County is scheduled to close on Monday, June 29 at 6:00 AM until Wednesday, July 1 at 7:00 AM. 

A posted detour will be in place using Route 981, Route 3031 (Fitz Henry Road), I-70, and Route 51.

PennDOT is not involved in this work and is providing this information as a public service announcement only. The work will be performed by CSX. 

Stay alert, exercise caution, and be courteous. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
