Route 66 Pavement Preservation Project to Begin in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that work on the Route 66 Pavement Preservation Project is scheduled to begin in Delmont Borough, Municipality of Murrysville, Salem and Washington townships, Westmoreland County, beginning Monday, August 17.

Traffic Impacts:

Daily single-lane restrictions controlled by flaggers are scheduled to occur on Route 66 between Manor Road and the Route 356 split intersection Monday, August 17 until the end of October from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

Plum Contracting, Inc. will complete improvements along the 10.5-mile corridor that include: milling and paving, full-depth pavement and base repairs, tree trimming, new pavement markings and signage, guiderail updates, drainage improvements, new traffic signals at three intersections (two intersections on Route 66 in Delmont and another signal at the intersection of Route 66 and Route 356) Route 66 and Route 356 will be reconstructed and widen to add a turn lane to accommodate a new traffic signal. New sidewalks, ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities, lighting, and landscaping near Manor Road and East Pittsburgh Street. An infrastructure investment of $12.9 million.
