Rostraver Pedestrian Bridge Over Interstate 70 Replacement Project Begins in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing single-lane restrictions in both directions on Interstate 70 between Exit 43 (Route 201 Fayette City) and Exit 41 (Route 906 Belle Vernon/Monessen) in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, weather permitting.

Beginning Monday, May 4, intermittent single-lane restrictions will occur from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. These restrictions are anticipated to remain in place through the end of July.

During this time, crews from Golden Triangle will remove the existing Rostraver pedestrian bridge and reconstruct the abutments in preparation for the new bridge, which will be set in same location. ADA Ramps will also be constructed.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution driving through the work zone. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

This work is part of the Rostraver Township Pedestrian Bridge Replacement Project, This project will construct a reliable crossing for pedestrians over Interstate 70 that will provide safe and efficient access across the interstate to serve local residents and maintain connectivity.
