PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of June 22, 2026 

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 22. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 4041 (Denmark Manor Road) in Penn Township
    • Road closed between Manor Valley Golf Course and Harrison City Export Road
      • Detour:

        • Blank Road

Base repair:

  • Route 136 (Main Street) in West Newton Borough
  • Route 981 Derry Township

Cleaning ditch channels:

  • Route 1008 (Derry Ridge Road) in Derry

Crack sealing:

  • Route 31 (Laurelville Road) Mount Pleasant
  • Route 906 (Schoonmaker & Donner) Monessen Township
  • Route 201 (Rostraver Road) Rostraver Township
  • Route 3003 (Pricedale Road) Rostraver Township
  • Route 981 (Peer Street) Smithton Borough
  • Route 981 Derry Township

Edge Paving:

  • Route 3063, 3069 (Wendel Road) in North Huntingdon Township

Paving:

  • Route 4031 (Bakerschool Road) in Penn Township

Pipe Extension:

  • Route 2021 (Kecksburg Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Pipe Replacement:

  • Route 3073 (Buttermore Road) East Huntingdon Township

Inlet adjustment:

  • Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Mount Pleasant Township

Parallel ditching:

  • Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Hempfield Township

Spray patching:

  • Various routes in Sewickley and North Huntingdon township
  • Route 4045 (Boquet Road) Penn Township
  • Route 4041 (School Road) Penn Township
  • Route 4037
  • Route 2019 (Marguerite Road) Unity Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
