PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Week of June 8, 2026       

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 8. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 4041 (Denmark Manor Rd) in Penn Township
    • Road closed between Manor Valley Golf Course and Harrison City Export Road
      • Detour:
        • Denmark Manor Road
        • Harrison City Export Road
        • Blank Road

Base repair:

  • Route 136 (Main Street) in West Newton Borough
  • Route 981 in Salem Township

Cleaning ditch channels:

  • Route 1006 (Creek Road) in Fairfield Township

Crack sealing:

  • Route 31 (Glades Pike Road) in Mt. Pleasant and Donegal townships

Paving:

  • Route 993 (Irwin/Trafford Road) in North Huntingdon Township
  • Route 130 in Penn Township
  • Route 4034 (Orr Avenue/Pine Run Road) in Oklahoma Borough

Pipe extension:

  • Route 2021 (Kecksburg Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township

Inlet adjustment:

  • Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Mount Pleasant Township

Tail ditching:

  • Route 2001 (Bridgeport Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Parallel ditching:

  • Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Mount Pleasant Township

Shoulder cutting:

  • Various routes in Bell, Washington, and Allegheny townships
  • Route 711 in Ligonier Township 

Spray patching:

  • Various routes in Sewickley and North Huntington townships

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Drivers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
